Doin' Do-B's

Well, this is my third year in Emporia and it's sad to say that I had never been to Do-B's. I mean, this is a place that I ALWAYS hear people raving about. So, thankfully Poochie Cabree finally made it's way to the hoppin' little joint...and boy, are we glad we did!!!

We tried going for lunch one day but it was too crowded (like...Hong Kong crowded), so we ended up going at a later time (around 3pm) which was perfect, we got helpful, friendly service and were able to take our time browsing through the menu and asking questions. It's a place similar to most fast food places where you order the food at the counter and then seat yourself; and look, you get to see the people making your food. That could be comforting to those of you who are weird about that sort of thing. That's not us doe!

Do-B's offers a variety of food, but apparently they spcialize in their phillies. They have several different kinds; One that we tried was the burnt ends Philly which was really good! It was very spicy, not in the 'burn your mouth' kind of way but in a 'tons of seasoning' kind of way, so good. (: The fries were also really good and "seasony" :)

However...

We also tried the Spartan, it was more of a plain tasting philly, pretty close to the O.G. philly...in fact, I really don't know what the difference is. We thought this one was better than the burnt ends, it had more veggies in it and there is just something about the taste of a classic philly. NOMNOM!

Amanda got really excited about the
Sriracha sauce.

For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu. It was REEEEEEEAAAAALLY good, we couldn't decide between that or the carrot cake and the man behind the counter encouraged us to get the tiramisu, it was such a great blend of chocolate, coffee, creaminess, and moist cake. It was a really big piece of cake too. We thought we made a good choice!

The really cool part is that the man who helped us choose the dessert went ahead and brought us a piece of carrot cake!!! BONUS! Was he trying to get in our pants?! Who cares! Free cake! It was really good too, very rich!

All in all, this meal was pretty pricey. It costed us around $11 give or take, but we were able to take a lot of it home and eat it for dinner so that averages about $5-$6 a meal (not too shabbby). Might I add, it was just as good, if not better the second time around.

We give it 4.5/5 stars for overall tastiness, friendliness, and FREE CAKE!
